We’re pleased to share that Tara James, Founder and Managing Director of Small and Mighty Group, has been appointed CEO of TekCyte Limited—an Australian biotechnology company developing drug and chemical-free surface coating technology for industrial and medical applications.
TekCyte’s flagship innovation, BIOINVISIBLE™, is designed to reduce the risk of life-threatening infections and blood clots when applied to medical devices such as orthopaedic and dental implants. The technology also inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria on surfaces including water filtration systems, supporting broader applications across healthcare and industry.
Why this appointment makes sense
Since 2021, Tara has worked closely with the TekCyte team to help shape and implement strategies that support long-term commercial success. Her contribution has focused on bridging complex science with clear commercial narratives—supporting investment readiness, market positioning and the practical steps required to scale technology from research into real-world use.
As CEO, Tara will continue this work at an executive level while maintaining her strategic oversight and director responsibilities within Small and Mighty Group.
