Torben Soelvsteen

A self-confessed bookworm, Torben is a library of knowledge with an outstanding ability to apply theory and experience to businesses in an ever-changing climate. He can spot golden opportunities from a mile away and believes that sales are a direct result of customer service.

With more than three decades of industry experience and different board roles , Torben knows a thing or two about managing and growing businesses. Born in Denmark, his Scandinavian approach to business is agile, progressive and customer focused. He has worked behind the counter, managed and expanded 102 stores and in 2012, Torben founded and created Denmark’s first nationally recognised Retail leadership education. This incredible initiative (the course takes 2.5 years to complete, and is still in use over 10 years later) was developed through partnerships with major retailers including McDonalds, The Body Shop, Synoptik and Peugeot, as well as universities and funded by the European Union. Torben has also written books including The Excellent Customer Experience. 

Beyond those impressive foundations, Torben has worked for traditional agencies where he honed his ability to rigorously test ideas and implement only the most successful practices. This experience Torben credits to his never-ending desire to apply hard work, passion and flexible thinking to all he does.
