Who we are

We're makers, doers, and thinkers. We challenge the status quo.

Who We Are Img@2x
Our global marketplace is constantly evolving, and so are we. Never before has it been more important for businesses to be agile, scale up or down, or change course or direction quickly.

Small and Mighty are part of the movement, and we apply these practices to our own business every day.

Founded by Tara James, Small and Mighty Group came to life after she recognised a gap in the workplace for skilled and diverse marketing, digital, sales, and creative contractor talent. A low-risk, more hands-on alternative to the traditional employee and consultancy approach was needed.

Leading from the front, Tara builds her teams based on a client’s needs and challenges. In some instances, you may be working with just her, in others, a complete and diverse network of experts.

Tara James

Tara offers jargon-free expertise and honest advice. Her strategies will give you the confidence to communicate effectively with your clients, grow brand awareness and sales without sacrificing the time you need to run your business.

To complement her education in business, marketing, tourism management and law, her working experience covers public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. She has excellent stakeholder and project management skills, to get you to where you need to be.

Born in the pre-digital era, she remembers what it’s like to call up a friend on the phone and have to speak with Mr or Mrs so-and-so first. Her career in marketing, however, boomed as social media, websites and digital hit centre stage and became must-have parts of a successful business strategy.

What gives Tara an added edge is she has held roles in business development, leadership and sales – reaching targets, and working directly with customers.

Earlier in her career she worked in meetings, conferences, incentives and events (MICE) so it’s fair to say, she’s very organised and can juggle many things, with a smile on her face.

Education

  • Bachelor of Business Marketing (CSU)
  • Graduate Diploma Law (SCU)
